Yet another magic masala powder! Spices are priceless in our kitchens and they often blend together to create an even more lovely spice mix. It only takes a little of these in our dishes to make all the difference... So go ahead and prepare a batch of this and spread the magic :D
Garam Masala {Homemade}
Recipe adapted from Kurryleaves
Ingredients
1/4 cup Cardamom Whole pods
1 Tbsp Cloves
3 Cinnamon sticks
1/2 cup Fennel seeds
3 Tbsp Black peppercorns
2 Star anise
1 Nutmeg
4 Mace

Method
- Dry roast all the above ingredients for 2 mins on low flame. Keep it aside and let it cool.
- Using the blender, grind this to a coarse mixture.
- Transfer the contents to an airtight container.
Notes: This is a staple masala powder in my kitchen cabinet. After grinding fresh masala powder at home, you would never want to go back to the prepacked store bought ones!
