Homemade Granola ☼

Granola is quite simply combining many health foods and baking it to a crispier self. When we buy these at supermarkets, they usually come pricey and may not be exactly filled with our favorite bits. So batch up your own, by mixing in all your favorite nuts and seeds. You will definitely find it handy on most mornings ☼, to have a jar full of your favorite goodness in your kitchen!

Recipe adapted from BBC Good food

  • Preheat oven to 150 C/ fan 130 C/ gas 2.
  • Combine the wet ingredients (vegetable oil, maple syrup, honey and vanilla extract) in a large mixing bowl.
  • Now tip in all the remaining ingredients, except the dried fruit and coconut, and mix well.
  • Transfer this mixture onto a baking sheet and spread it evenly.
  • First bake this mixture for 15 mins, then mix in the coconut flakes and dried fruit, and bake for another 10 to 15 mins.
  • Remove from oven and let it cool. Homemade granola ready!

Notes: The granola can be stored in an airtight container for up to a month. You can serve with cold milk or yogurt. I have halved the original recipe ingredients and substituted the use of nuts/seeds with my own choice.
